Boyd Meets Girl pairs American cellist Laura Metcalf with Australian classical guitarist Rupert Boyd, in an ensemble that performs an eclectic and exciting mix of works from the baroque through modern day.

This October, Boyd Meets Girl plans to record its debut CD at Sono Luminus studios in Virginia, with Grammy-nominated producer Dan Merceruio. Repertoire on the album will include works by J.S. Bach, the Bolivian composer Jaime Zenamon, a set of flamenco-inspired songs by the Spanish composer Manuel de Falla, and a work arranged for the ensemble by the eminent Australian composer Ross Edwards.

Based in New York City, both Boyd and Metcalf are respected soloists in their own right; Metcalf has been lauded by The Washington Post for her “gorgeous cello legatos,” while Boyd has been described by Classical Guitar Magazine as “a player who deserves to be heard.”
